  1. Cosmic Ears CE6P

When I first started looking for a pair of CIEMs, I was determined to find the best one in the $1000 region that would serve me equally well for everyday listening as well as stage use (I play in a band) and after quite a bit of deliberation, settled on these, and man was it a good call. What follows is just a few of my thoughts on this excellent piece of audio goodness.   Gear  CE6P w/ stock cable CE6P with 4-strand copper type-2 litz from theheadphonelounge.com AK100 ii Music HDtracks 2016 sampler Michael Jackson - Bad (24/96) FLAC Boys...

Just some background stuff before the review...this is the second source i have owned dedicated to music (i.e not listening to music off my iphone) so i don't have much experience with high end sources. all impressions were formed listening to 320kbps mp3 or lossless rips on the eytomic hf5s unamped across a wide range of music genres, so here goes.   i bought this after reading through a bunch of reviews on headfi and have been using it for quite some time, switching between this and my old iphone 4, which i pretty much use only for music and...
  3. Etymotic Research HF5 Portable In-Ear Earphones

A few months ago, my trusty westone um1s died after 2 years of faithful service, so i got this pair to replace them, based purely on the reviews i had read about them online, seeing as i was unable to personally demo a pair. needless to say i was nothing short of entirely satisfied with them, and while i have owned the um1s, comparing them would be slightly pointless as they are completely different in character, so this review will be a simple standalone affair. the basic setup is the hf5s and an ipod classic (the latest gen not sure which one it...

Sooooo...after 2 years of faithful service, my trusty westone um1s have finally played their last song and died (the left earpiece has no sound coming out of it) so i figured it was time to get a new pair. I've since ordered the eytomic hf5, but until they got here, i needed another pair because apple earbuds hurt my ears. As such, i got another set of these guys, which also happen to be the first ever set of in ears i ever purchased, and i was not disappointed...again   These are incredible, simply put, for the price that you pay. i let them burn...
  5. Westone UM1 stage monitors

disclaimer: I'm still pretty new to this whole 'audiophile' thing so my impressions probably are not the most accurate. i don't own any so called 'high end' audio gear so all my comparisons will be done with respect to sounds in real life, against what instruments actually sound like in a band or when singing. all tracks used are either 320kbps mp3 or lossless CD rips on an iphone 4   build: build wise, i have no issues at all. i've been using them almost every day for the last 8-10 months or so, to and from school and everywhere in between. I've...
  6. Klipsch IMAGE S4 In-Ear Enhanced Bass Noise-Isolating Headphones

You will always remember your first, and these earphones are probably the best first's i could ever get at that time. For someone who had never used anything besides apple earphones and equivalent quality earphones, so the s4's where a huge jump in terms of audio quality. It was great for most types of music that i listen to, anything from fall out boy to Andre Bocelli, so I'd say its a great starter for anyone looking for a cheap and good pair of entry level earphones. It has a really nice and mellow tones, especially in the mids where Andre...
