Trying to justify getting these even though I already have HE-400 s. I will decide before sleepingg.

So I saw the Massdrop HD 6XX deal and I am tempted to get them. Any point of getting them if I already have the HE-400 headphones? Or better to save up and get into the next tier of headphones?   I'm tempted since the HD600 was my second option when getting the HE-400s. Was a difficult choice...

Finally got a new cable. Couldn't afford to get the OEM one so I got one for $30 from amazon. It looks super thin, but the connectors are solid and its not 10 feet long haha

So the cable on mine broke and I can't spend $80 on another one. Do any of you know any budget cable option available? I am ok with a soldering gun, so if someone can point me toward the connectors the cable uses and I can try to solder new ones.    I saw one for $30 on amazon, but its sold...

So after not that long of having my HE-400s and finally getting a new headband and pads, the cable just broke. :( Broke right at the connector.Going to get one of the cheap cables on amazon instead of the OEM one.   From what I have read, I shouldn't even bother going to Hifiman since their...

I ended up just using a piece of black tape on the bottom of the pads.   Just got the Lohb headband. The velpads + the headband has made such a big difference. So much more comfortable now.

Anyone have a problem with their pads spinning around in the cups? I got the velpads and they are so much more comfortable. but they don't stay in place. Wouldn't have been a big deal if these weren't angled.

I can totally reccommend the 7506s. I had the older MDR-V6s which are supposed to be the same headphone and they were amazingly accurate. There is a reason they are still so widely used today after 31 years!

Just got the vel pads! One question, which way should they be angled? One side of the pads is thicker than the other. Is this a personal preference type thing or is there a proper way to position them?    They definitely feel more comfortable and there was a definite change in the sound. Will...

I'm really liking it! Powers the HE-400s with no problem at all, I don't go much above half volume. Only negative is that it has no usb input, but my computer has optical out so I'm just using that.  Compared to the E10 the sound seems a bit less warm, but I feel it goes better with the...

The same thing happens when I tried to aggressively EQ using foobar even after upgrading to the SMSL 793ii. If you switched to these from a closed headphone, you might just be expecting too much bass. These have great bass for open headphones, but even my old Sony MDR-V6s closed headphones...

Maybe try turning Foobar to max and then using the E10 volume to adjust to a comfortable sound level. My old E10 had no problem driving them.

I've tried tightening them multiple times and they are always coming loose. I think the cable side connector is just stripped on my pair now. Hopefully it works for a while so I don't have to drop money on another cable or like $160 on the cable mod + a new cable. I might try one of the...

Oh man, its $100 for the mod. I'll probably get it done once the current ones completely break or the cord goes bad.    Also let me know how the Lohb strap works for you once you try it out!   I honestly don't think I will be getting any more headphones after these. If I do spend money on...
