Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
Great story, and very interesting comment about how they kind of created their own dialect of recorded music. Still thinking about that.- FellowTraveller

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
I've been listening to albums from Steely Dan and Donald Fagen again recently. And I'm reminded of how outstanding their recordings were. This is even more true, I think, of their later recordings, like Gaucho, Two Against Nature, Nightfly, and Morph the Cat. The placement and almost the shape...- FellowTraveller

Schiit Audio Bifrost 2
I don't normally expect a DAC to have volume control. In my view, you'll be getting a really excellent, good sounding DAC in the Bifrost 2/64, and I'm sure you'll be able to figure out an appropriate way to control the volume. Schiit also has a return policy if you buy the SYS and feel that it...- FellowTraveller

Schiit Audio Bifrost 2
Yes, that would make sense. It's the kind of situation SYS is designed for, and it's only $50. I also have a Macbook, and I don't know of any way of controlling the master volume when you plug in a DAC, other than from inside the specific app you're using, as you mentioned.- FellowTraveller

Schiit Audio Bifrost 2
Just to clarify, Bifrost 2/64 is a DAC only. It has no preamp function and no volume control. You would need to run the Bifrost output to some kind of headphone or speaker amp.- FellowTraveller

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
Wow! Thank you so much! It's very cool. You put in the name of a composer/performer, the system finds it for you (reliably so far), and then shows you a rather complex map of which other artists you might like based on their similarity to the one you put in. Would love to know what kind of...- FellowTraveller

Schiit Kara - Impressions Thread
Thanks for your very interesting reflections on the Kara and other topics. I'm interested in the CD with the Respighi recording on Mercury that you mentioned. Do you mind sharing the cover or saying the orchestra and/or year so I can find the exact recording you're talking about?- FellowTraveller

Thanks. I too like the voicing of Triangle speakers. Would love to hear the Antals. I'm very pleased with the Bifrost 2 (OG, then 2/64), and am interested in trying out a Schiit separates combination--most likely Vidar 2 and Kara, I use my system in a big classroom--but would like to hear them...- FellowTraveller

Helpful information. Thanks. How do the 40th anniversary Antal's sound compared to the BR08s?- FellowTraveller

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
I can't answer your question, though I've wondered the same thing about using Aegir (II or OG) monoblocks with my Triangle Borea BR08s, which have similar specs to the Esprit Titus Ezs. I had the impression that due to the occasional dips to 3.8 ohms it might be an iffy combination. Others could...- FellowTraveller

Schiit Audio Bifrost 2
I have the BF2/64, upgraded from the BF2. I bought a Modius E to work in a mobile classroom sound system that had to be lighter and for which I wanted to use cheaper components because I couldn't always control security in other people's classrooms or in hotel conference rooms. So in direct...- FellowTraveller
