The Watercooler -- Impressions, philosophical discussion and general banter. Index on first page. All welcome.
Gives an extra glow to all the good aspects - width of stage, texture of subbass, dynamic impact - while adding a tiny bit of warm weight to the mids and controlling the treble just the tiniest bit as well. It doesn't alter their character at all, just notches up the smoothness and coherency to 11.- fejnomit

I may be in the minority but I had the MScaler->TT2 combo for a long while as my desktop set up for headphones and it was very nice sounding but - and call me crazy - the sonics I am getting from the DC-Elite into my Trifectas is subjectively better. Better depth and layering, better soundstage...- fejnomit

I believe it gets in through the earpiece itself, not through the insulation.- fejnomit

I have inundated my Cascaras with sweat at this point - I can hold onto it if you guys want. No cable patina yet but I'm really trying...- fejnomit

Implies the cable is not woven in a Litz structure, which prevents oxidation. Otherwise, silver(-plating) especially will oxidate from sweat pretty quickly. Does not affect sound, just looks.- fejnomit

Love this track. Love all his LPs/EPs. So sonically interesting. Making music with 'found' sounds... And yes it tests soundstage depth as well... Great rec!- fejnomit

Sorry to hear this. I find it a pretty balanced set. I would be curious what treble you do like, of your large collection.- fejnomit

Good thing it doesn't need EQ for those who love it! Also "super thin and sibilant" treble? Really? This sounds a little extreme to me, but hey, you heard what you heard.- fejnomit

Um, it does? Tuning categories add up to 100% and Tech categories add up to 100% This was actually an attempt on my part to delve into the utterly subjective variables of it all, the exact opposite of standardization.- fejnomit

This might be an interesting way to share our different focal points when it comes to listening. For me I would say: Tuning: Bass: 50% Mids: 35% Treble: 15% (just cannot be sibilant) Tech: PRaT: 20% Timbre: 20% Dynamics: 15% Imaging/Depth/Soundstage/Background: 45% As you can probably guess...- fejnomit
