    There's a review of the Trends on tnt audio but they focused more on its pre-amp functions and only a bit on the headphone amp.

    UD-10 questions need clearing up

    Yes, it does function as a DAC with the headphone output, its a 16 bit DAC I think. If you are going to use it as a USB transport, I don't think there is any oversampling done by the UD-10.

    You could also take a look at the Trends audio ud-10, I'm using it as a USB transport for my dac. It has a spdif/ coaxial, optical and an AES digital outputs. You can also use it as a dac as well.

    If you are not going to use the Oppo for dvds , then I suggest that you get the CD6002 since SQ is more important.

    The Trends does have a headphone out but its not really an amp, its more like a line out.

    If its free, why not just calibrate it, but I understand that you should wait for a month or two before calibrating it.

    I think a tube amp goes well with both the dt880 and the ms2i but its hard to find one new with your budget, maybe you should take a look at the FS threads
