looking for durable IEMs with replaceable cable (budget ~£125)

Quote: Unfortunately i'm about to become a poor uni student so can't turn into a full-on audiophile buying lots of pairs, but I will definitely keep these on my list for when I do need a new pair, thanks :)

Yeah, really annoying as I paid 10% of the product's price just to get next day delivery for nothing. Well I just ordered another pair which will arrive tomorrow, and will post the first pair tonight, as long as they don't dick move me and say something like "these aren't broken bro, no refund"...

My SE215s arrived... but there seems to be a bad connection in my right ear, though that was also the one that died on my pr200s. I'm at work now, but I'm gonna mess around with some other things to see if it's the shures, or if it's the sansa clip+ itself.   Oddly, I tried quickly swapping...

As I understand, the 215s have the same cables, oh well - i'll take a bit of nuisance of cabling as a trade off for tough cables. If you say that the memory wire part is useless, then what do you do - surely you can only wear the shure se series over the ear? Quote:

Alright great, thanks for all the help and advice, I'm still a newbie round here :)   edit: is there any difference of the CL edition?

Yeah, it's the law here and amazon even give 30 days (law is 7) about changing your mind - I see what you mean though. The majority of my music is metal and (prog) rock - with some industrial, electronic, etc. so perhaps the 215s are better suited to my music. Then again, if the build quality of...

looking for durable IEMs with replaceable cable (budget ~£125)

Right, fair enough, I didn't realise the 215s had been a fotm.   I'm considering to get both models and return the one I like least, though that's a lot to sink though I've never had problems returning stuff to amazon before - is it standard audiophile practice to buy then return till...

Right, my only concern now is this thread which doesn't seem too impressed by the 315s http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/547048/shure-se215-v-shure-se315/15 - even going to say that some prefer the 215s? I would have thought they should be a clear step up.

So what is the advantage/difference of the 315s over the 215s? Both have detachable cables? I'd rather save the £40 if its just a bit of sound quality, unless the 315s are *that* much better. Or are the 315s the only model that has cables I can buy seperately? Quote:

Amazon UK have three in stock at the moment.   I don't suppose there are any other options? I was very interested in the ironbud project but thats going a bit slow for my needs right now.

Can I actually get new cables for them or not though? I don't know what is causing them to fail so them being detachable won't help in of itself surely.

Hi all, I've been having a problem in that I go through IEMs like crazy. I've been through two pairs since early march (some a-jays, then some ecci pr200s of which one ear died today). I'm fed up of salvaging them by replacing the audiojack, which always results in a messier bulky end there...
