I've read that the plastic back has more to do with reception issues than cheaping out on materials.

Not really contributing anything here, but the lensflare effect in the second picture is absolutely hilarious and out of place .

Regardless of any other circumstances in this situation, I find that publicly revealing the customer's name is totally inexcusable.

I love how the regular techflex APS cables are so sturdy and resilient, but am looking at the super nylon for its flexibility and lack of microphonics. I was wondering if super nylon is more or less prone to fraying/damage compared to techflex though, what do you think Alex?

If you intend on getting some sort of desktop amp in the future, I'd definitely go for the HD600. If you plan on just hooking it up directly through a computer or a portable go with the HD595. This is all imo of course.

STEREOTYPE AUDIO is a Canadian based Grado dealer, and they sell the SR-80s for $119 canadian. That's still more than the U.S., but probably cheaper than some local dealers.

Has anyone here recently purchased one of the older style RS-1s (wooden button in the middle) from a Canadian retailer? Been trying to find some, but the shops I know that offer Grado only have the newer, buttonless ones in stock.

I think headroom offers the HD650s for a lot lower than $400. If you buy from there they have an excellent return policy and customer service, so should you find them lacking with your current setup it is possible to just return them. With that said, if you are truly curious about the HD650...

How sensitive is the volume knob of the Zero DAC with the headphone amp? I've heard reports of how the amp of the Zhaolu D2.5 had fairly high gain, and even with cans like the HD580 it was difficult to use the whole knob?
