This set of speakers are like the nerfed version of the M-Audio AV40's.  They have generally the same conveniences as the AV40's (headphone jack, volume control on powered speaker) but being smaller, they are have a less powerful bass, which is expected.  While they worked, they were pretty good as a minor setup for my laptop in a different room.   I also used these as a more portable alternative to my Logitech Z-2300 set when I had to travel to some other location for an extended period of time that didn't require a permanent move.  So these...

For all intensive purposes, these are good sounding speakers. They're well balanced, not super punchy on the bass, and are reasonably accurate for the casual ear. It's nice to have headphone outputs for times you want to keep the music down if someone else in the room doesn't want to listen to what you're listening to at the time.
