best sub $220 mp3, wav, flac?

I'm still using an AK Jr, which can be found pretty cheaply now. The Cowon Plenue D seems to be popular, and is in your budget. Great audio quality, and 100 hour battery life, which is stunning. Fiio's X5 2nd gen is around that price, as well. There's also the X3, which is worth a look.

Looking for a good desktop (portable is also an option) headphone amp ~$300 or less

Any thoughts on the Jotunheim? EDIT: Oh, and I forgot to mention that I'm currently using a Fulla 2 in the OP, so I guess it would need to be an upgrade over that.

Looking for a good desktop (portable is also an option) headphone amp ~$300 or less

    Breaking-in headphones, the final verdict!

I've always assumed that it was me adjusting to headphones, not the other way around.

24bit vs 16bit, the myth exploded!

I have a few 24/92 albums, and while they sound great, I can't honestly say they sound better by any significant degree to 16/44.1 versions. The latter definitely sounds superior to even higher bitrate MP3s, but I can't tell the difference between 24-bit and 16-bit, much less 32-bit.

    Bowers&Wilkins new flagship the P9!

Just picked up a pair of these a week ago, and, I must say, I'm very impressed. I've done a few comparisons of the same tracks from the P9 and my go-to HE-400i's, and I've found the former to have significantly better detailing, and separation. Bass is certainly strong, but it doesn't overpower...
