What a long, strange trip it's been -- (Robert Hunter)
I'll check these out, thanks. I suppose it was a fairly vague request, I guess sampling theory, filtering, and ADC/DAC topologies would be more specifics topics- eternal_drake

What a long, strange trip it's been -- (Robert Hunter)
A question for @Baldr , and any other visitors to the thread who might have some suggestions: are there any books in particular you'd recommend as reference texts for DSP? I took a few digital courses in college but that was a while ago...- eternal_drake

AEON, MrSpeakers' New Closed Back Planar Magnetic Headphone
I'm curious if anyone here who has listened to both could offer some comparisons between the LFF Slants and the Aeons. I'm looking for a set of closed backs and I've narrowed it down to these two I think- eternal_drake

Ultrasone Pro 900 Impressions Thread
Quote: this topics a bit old but let me just go ahead and confirm that this cable, at least for proline 2500s, definitely doesnt work. while both are threaded 1/8s, the ultrasone actually has a few milimeters of flat metal before the actual threads, the shures dont. so the shure cable just...- eternal_drake

Recommendations for Ultrasone Proline 2500 amp?
Hey there, I'm looking for an amplifier to drive my Ultrasone Proline 2500s. They're fairly low impedance (40 Ohm), but at the moment all I have in my current setup is just the cans connected to an nForce uDAC (original). My budget is at most 200$ I was doing some searching and digging and...- eternal_drake

Issue with Left-Right sound balance on STAX Lambda Pros
Quote: I did this and the sound remains proportionately unbalanced regardless of the volume levels on the dac or amp (it sounds about as if the slider were set to 20% left 80% right)- eternal_drake

Issue with Left-Right sound balance on STAX Lambda Pros
Ive been using my Stax setup for a while [lamdba pro > srm-1 mk 2 > nforce icon udac > computer] and recently an imbalance of sound on the left and right channels popped up, whether im watching movies or listening to music. First, I tested with a pair of speakers lying around [cheap...- eternal_drake

Looking for ~200USD USB DAC
Trying to decide on a DAC with USB around the 150-200$ price range. I'm currently using STAX SR Lambda Pro + SRM-1 Mk II, mostly electronic/triphop music. I was considering a EMU-0404 or maybe a Tianyun Zero, but was wanting some input on the matter. Thoughts/suggestions?- eternal_drake

Recommendation for 400-600$ amp+headphones?
how significant are the differences between the srm-1 mk1 and mk2, and between the lambda pro and the nova pro [or any other older 'pro' models]? because I was looking at AudiogoN ForSale: Stax srm-I mk 1& stax and considering it- eternal_drake
