MP3 player with windows type folders and direct transfer
Is there an MP3 player with a large hard disk (20Gb or so) which enables you to transfer files directly from your PC as if it is another disk, and allows you to create folders and sub-folders as in Windows. I use my IPOD purely for listening to books and plays, either from bought CDs or...- epzcaw

Are there any systems available which enable timed digital recordings to be made from radio in the same way as can be done with VCRs, DVD and HD recorders from broadcast TV?- epzcaw

New user...opinions about Samsung YH-925
I bought one of these. The USB connection was faulty. The battery life appears to be only 4 hours. But worst of all, it failed to play some tracks. It missed the same tracks all the time, and there appears to be no pattern in the ones it misses. I reloaded the tracks and still had the saem...- epzcaw

Portable player for speech/plays
It looks as if I will have to stay with the old technology then. It is very convenient to be able to connect up the device to the Hi-fi without any PC involvement, and get a recording of a play - but it is essential to split anything which is a half an hour or more into tracks fro future...- epzcaw

Portable player for speech/plays
Sorry - I have not made it clear what I want to do. I want to replace an MD player with a hard disk device. With the MD recorder, I can record hour-long (or more) plays off the radio, and automatically create track marks every 5 minutes. This means that if I lose my place when I am...- epzcaw

Portable player for speech/plays
I am now considering an IAudio X5 for this. It is not entirely clear to me that you can use bookmarks to effectively divide a recording into tracks and I would be grateful if someone could clarify this for me. If I record an hour -long play from my HiFi, can I subsequently FF through it...- epzcaw

Portable player for speech/plays
I want a portable player for listening to plays and 'talking books'. I have some of these are already in MP3 format on CDs or on my PC, some on CD, some on WAV files which I have produced from commercial cassettes, and some of which are recorded from the radio, either onto CDs with a CD...- epzcaw

NW-HD5 track and playlist order
Yes, I would like to change the order of playlists after I have loaded them onto the player but this does not seem to be possible, whereas I could do it with the NW-HD3.- epzcaw

NW-HD5 track and playlist order
I have just got one of these as a replacement for a NW-HD3 whose hard disk crashed. I have found that it is not possible to change the order of tracks, albums or playlists once they have been loaded in. This was not the case with the NW-HD3 nor with MD players, all loaded up using the same...- epzcaw

MD question
Reply to Notnormal. I am using a NET MD. I now have a hard disk player which I want to transfer old recordings. Much of the stuff I use is downloaded from audio cassettes (pre-recorded speech). My early recordings were done directly onto minidisk, and it would be good to be able to transfer...- epzcaw
