I have eddie current zana deux super, auralic taurus mkii and woo wa2 with high end tubes... T1.2 sounded bad on all of them, best sound was from taurus mkii, the tune amps sounded too dark, and vocals was grainy.

I returned them and bought the zmf eikon, ever since then, I haven't touched my th900 and hd800s. My t1.2 was stock, brand new from Amazon... I must have gotten a defective pair, if that even exists, they sounded like crap unfortunately.

I have a matched set of national electronics 5998's for sale, same as tungsol, grab them while they are still available. They are NOS with less than one hour of use.

will a $15 belkin USB cable suffice?

yeah, it was weird. vocals were very grainy and scratchy, sounded too dark on my tube amps...in comparison, my HD800S, HD700 and TH900 sound HEAVENLY on my Zana Deux. The only amp where it sounded decent was on my auralic taurus MKII. Anyways, I returned it to amazon and bought a ZMF Eikon instead.
