Thanks for the reply I ended up splitting the difference and ordering a like new,  I'll be swapping the cable with a V- Moda BoomPro so hopefully I won't have any noticeable imbalance issues.  If I do Amazons easy enough to deal with. 

Pillars of Eternity I haven't played a game like it in a long time and I'm really enjoying it so far,but it does have some bugs that need fixed so 8/10 atm. 

About to order these, but can't decide if I want to buy one of the Amazon Warehouse pairs or not. Has anyone else ordered one of the pairs marked "Good"?

If you  end up returning them and willing to sell the card  to get cash or amazon credit look at Plasticjungle .com . It's where I sell the gift cards I don't want and nobody I know wants to buy off me . What they pay has always been fair when I have used them and have not had a problem with them.

I have never used the 555's so I can't comment on them besides FWIR a lot of people enjoy them for gaming.  I ended up choosing ad-700's over the 555's and I'm happy with my choice.

Remember search is your friend, but to answer your question no they don't need amped. And yes they are great headphones there what I use. There also one of the top recommend for entry level headphone (for gaming) along with the Sennheiser 555/595.   Hope this helps   Edit Take a look...

I decided today I wanted to try modding my Ad 700's, since the splitters Astro sells for the mixamp keep breaking.  What I would like to do is; add a detachable 4-poll connector thats 3.5mm on the end that will plug into the mixamp  and a detachable mic that I'm able to mute.  The problem is...
