    Fostex new RP headphones - T50RPmk3, T40RPmk3 and T20RPmk3

Wanted everyone to know that the Shure 1540 alcantara replacement pads are finally available to order on Amazon. Not sure when they'll be shipped but you can place an order. I've tried a few pads now and none have worked out. Hoping these are the ones. :(  ...

    Fostex new RP headphones - T50RPmk3, T40RPmk3 and T20RPmk3

I finally got a pair of these pads http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/111718995999?rmvSB=true&rmvSB=true for my T40 and the sound is significantly worse. I had no intention of doing a lot of modding, but this won't due at all. Bass kicks seem less powerful, but the sound is still bloated and muddy now...

    Fostex new RP headphones - T50RPmk3, T40RPmk3 and T20RPmk3

I'm fairly certain I've read that the T50 is the most neutral of all three. The graphs from Tyll at innerfidelity.com show the T40 dropping off slightly slower than the T50 below around 80hz. And even the only marketing difference (from what I can tell) between the T40 and T50 boxes would...

    Fostex new RP headphones - T50RPmk3, T40RPmk3 and T20RPmk3

I picked up a T40RP MK3 and Philips SHP9500 recently wanting to test something against my ATH-M50x and make a possible upgrade. Wouldn't describe myself as an audiophile but more of an audio enthusiast. I'm really not willing to spend more than $200 on headphones due to fear of diminishing...

    High-end Prosumer 2.1 System

Not sure how that would work but wouldn't that only control the source of my audio files and not the speaker/output aspect of it? The whole point of my whole redesign is because I move my laptop in and out of the house frequently, and want to be able to easily shut off all the components in a...

    High-end Prosumer 2.1 System

It would be a great option, but these monitors have a seemingly rare front volume control that would work on the whole system if going from monitors > sub. I considered getting something like a TC Level Pilot to put in between but that would just add an extra piece of gear that I'd rather not...

    High-end Prosumer 2.1 System

Using the HPF on the sub would definitely be the easiest solution for a seamless crossover. But these speakers have extensive options for frequency cutoff and crossover settings. And this way I can use them exactly how I wanted to, like oversized 2.1 PC speakers in a box.

    High-end Prosumer 2.1 System

There are other issues that bother me besides switching things on and off, like not being able to use operating system volume controls with an external interface, and the huge size of the VXT6s. I actually picked up something that I think meets my needs, though it came at quite a cost. Not sure...

    High-end Prosumer 2.1 System

So I had some KRK VXT6s with the S10 subwoofer and an audio interface for a few years. I'm looking to get rid of this setup and replace it with something that isn't so tedious to use. I use a laptop that I take out of the house at least once a day, which requires me to switch off each component...

    Mid-fi comparison (M-100, HE-400, AH-D600, Fidelio L1, MDR-1R, Ultrasone 900, Momentum)

IF I post impressions, it'll be tomorrow.   I stress myself out over these kinds of purchases.  Not loving any of these right now so pretty frustrated.  The Momentum easily had the perfect sound, but the fit...  I'm cursing Sennheiser for making a "full-size" that is half-size.

    Mid-fi comparison (M-100, HE-400, AH-D600, Fidelio L1, MDR-1R, Ultrasone 900, Momentum)

Before I say anything I'd like to commend everyone that does these comparative reviews. If you haven't done one before, then let me tell you, it's a lot of work.   Seeing as some are interested, I want to invest more energy into the comparison, but not looking forward to writing the full...

Why would anyone want just one headphone?

I want a do-it-all (or most) phone to make my life easier;  There's only one thing to turn to when you wanna hear something, so it's convenience for me.  Also cost.

++ FULL-SIZE HEADPHONE RECOMMENDATIONS THREAD++ CLOSED: Please post a thread in the Introductions, Help and Advice forum

Quote:   Rule out the K550 right now.  It's very boring for all the genres you mentioned.  Also if you plan on using these for any 2+ hour sessions then I'd rule out any on-ears right now (Momentum, Amperior, HD25).  I had major pressure point issues with all of them but your results may...

Review: Philips Fidelio L1 [Updated 5/14]

Thanks. Silly of me to ask since both will be arriving tomorrow. Looking forward to hearing them.

    Mid-fi comparison (M-100, HE-400, AH-D600, Fidelio L1, MDR-1R, Ultrasone 900, Momentum)

Quote:   I have Philips Fidelio L1, Sony MDR-1R, and V-Moda M-100 on the way.   Desire I have, deep pockets I do not.  I have plenty of open credit so I can buy a few at a time and return the ones I don't want.  My budget is still only around $300 for a do-it-all can.
