    Fiio E7 not staying on

hi. I have an E7 doesn't stay on and I am looking for some advice. I use it docked with an E9; the E9 is mains powered so I suppose it provides power to the E7 as well. In any case I used it a lot in this configuration so I assume it doesn't use the battery when dockked. The problem is that...

    Complicated Situation - Advice Needed

I use the following mobile setup and I am quite happy with it, but I am not commuting really, I actually only use it on planes and I don't fly too often, but it works for me, either long or short flights:  - iPod classic 160gb + fiio line-out dock+fiio E7. This is portable enough for a jacket...

Looking for best jazz/classical/acoustic unamped headphones <150£/250$

I am listening to the HD650 5 days a week in my office, amped by the Fiio E9/E7 and two days a week at home, through my TEAC receiver or through an integrated amp HK650. Many people with more experience than me say that the E9/E7 are plenty amp to drive the HD650. However, my distinct...

Looking for best jazz/classical/acoustic unamped headphones <150£/250$

I can't comment on HD600 compared to HD650 because I never heard the 600.    The "thump" that I'm hearing with the Denon probably could be described as a sudden spike in bass that is NOT a part of the music, it is not like a deep note hit by an instrument. I believe it may be from the piano...

Looking for best jazz/classical/acoustic unamped headphones <150£/250$

why are you looking for cans that don't need amping when you already have an amp, the creek integrated? Unless it doesn't have a headphone out it should be perfectly good for driving any headphones.   I am listening to pretty much the same music as you do, mostly acoustic jazz and classical...

I'm buying the Fiio e7/e9 dac+amp combo. Should I upgrade my Sennheiser HD 598 to the Sennheiser HD 650?

Hi. I have the 595 which is the same can as 598 except the beige color/wood/velvet. In sound they seem to be the same according to many people on this forum.    The 650 sounds better than 595/598, I think 80 bucks for the upgrade is a no-brainer, you should do it especially if you plan to...

    HD595+E7+E9 - looking for more

so, I got them both. Denon AHD2000 and Sennheiser HD650. So far I like them both (duh...), didn't have time for enough listening to really compare. I'm also not sure if it's a night-and-day difference compared to 595. There definitely is a difference, I'm just not sure how huge it is. Not sure...

    FiiO E9 Review

Tatakai - no. I had the 595 for a while, bought the E7+E9 combo, no difference. I'm not selling the combo though, I'm buying more expensive 'phones (HD650) that supposedly need amping. The point being that 595 don't really care much whether they're amped or not, at least not when they're amped...

    HD595+E7+E9 - looking for more

HD650 ordered today! I'll be in the US all next week, then when I get back i'll let you guys know what I think.  Oh, and I'm getting the Denon AH-D2000 as well for my birthday    Then one of the three (595, 650, D2000) will have to go. Or maybe not...?

    HD595+E7+E9 - looking for more

This forum is just fantastic. I'm so glad I asked. Thank you all guys.    Now, with the 595 it's exactly like disatermouse says - It is a definite improvement, but just in terms of being more clear, they're not really revelatory, I'm not hearing things I haven't heard before and so on.   ...

    HD595+E7+E9 - looking for more

That just made my head spin. I read that sentence about ten times before I could make some sense out of it. I think it's a pretty clever of putting it, but how could you know that if you didn't hear the 595?   When I listen to 595 I know almost exactly what I want to be different: more...

    Current Sennheiser HD 650 Pricing

If you look them up on ebay, there's one dealer who has listed a few pairs at 328 and some at 499. There's no apparent difference between them, not from the descriptions provided. I'm wondering what's the deal... are there model variations that would justify such a price difference?   I...

    HD595+E7+E9 - looking for more

I get it. It seems that there's a bigger difference than what I (not) heard with the HD595 unamped/amped.    Also, I'm starting to believe that once you're into HD595 teritory you run into diminishing returns indeed, like Elanzer said a couple of posts back. Most likely 650 won't sound...

    HD595+E7+E9 - looking for more

I already have the E7/E9. My quest is for headphones that would get an important benefit from being amped, and at the same time would sound significantly better than the 595.    So, would you say that the difference between amped and non-amped is immediately and clearly noticeable? Or do you...

    HD595+E7+E9 - looking for more

Do you have a laptop? or any computer with an ordinary soundcard? That's how I will be using them, from my laptop at work. If you could compare them straight out of computer versus amped it would be great. I think I'll go berserk if I buy them and they sound the same straight out of computer...
