    toshiba gigabeat f60...anybody own one?

I think the availability of the F-series is still very limited, if its available at all. Someone from here posted a link to a review for an older series Gigabeat. http://www.minidisct.com/forum/showt...threadid=27400 I researched these players a bit. The problems I have are the encryption...

    MiniReview Samsung YEPP T7Z

I generally like the Samsungs too, I think they're undrer-rated, and they're very well-constructed. The problem I have with it, and you touched on it, is the headphone out is too wimpy. 5mw into 16 ohms. Just not enough -it really struggles with phones even like the Koss KSC series. Many...

Has anyone tried out the Toshiba Gigabeat?

t10 - Did you have any issues with your G21 related to the software? As the player is not intended for US use, i was wondering if you had any trouble connecting to a US operating system? Also, do you know the power output spec? I was thinking about trying one of these also, but I want to be...

Has anyone tried out the Toshiba Gigabeat?

One negative I see with them is that its only a two band (bass, treble) equalizer. Five band is pretty much the norm. Some people don't use them anyway, but I like the flexibility. I've also seen reports of inadequate volume - I don't see any power output specs. It looks very well made and I've...

iAudio: In touch with general public?

Iaudio in general tends to be a bit higher priced than the competition. Maybe partlly because they're not as widely distributed and maybe partly because they place themselves a bit upmarket from Creative, Iriver, etc. Even though there are HD models avaialable with much more memory for the...

    tried a few ne phones

had a few minutes to spare last night so I took a stroll through the local hi-fi store and checked out a few phones. Senn HD-495. I have heard these before and had a generally favorable impression, but now that I'm accustomed to my 497's, I thought I'd try 'em again. The word that comes to...

    ct570 hiss?

bcwang - The headphones I've used are the Senn 497, Koss KSC-50 and Sony EX-70, so as you can see we have a lot in common. I went back and tested all 3 of mine with these phones and my Senn 580 in a very quiet environment. They are all completely silent, at least to my ears. It could be that...

    ct570 hiss?

My 570 (and the two spares I have that I have tested) are all dead silent from the headphone out at any volume level with any of the phones I've tried. Are you using the in-line remote - that mucks things up BIG TIME.

    Should I keep HD495 or HD497?

495's are MUCH harder to drive than 497's, they are difficult to drive with a portable. The sound is a lot different from the 497, more laid back. The top end is not as detailed as the 497's. They are very comfortable, although I find the 497 comfortable too. The 495 looks much nicer too. If I...

    Portable headphones w/ Panasonic CT570

I use Senn 497's and Koss KSC-50's with mine, depending on what I'm doing when I'm using them. Both sound quite good and are comfortable to me. Some people have issues with the comfort (and looks) of both models however.

Hi new to boards - 497 opinion

I don't find the 497's veiled either. Of course, I also don't find the 580's veiled. I've never heard the Philips phones, but at $85, they're quite a bit more expensive than the 497's. The 497's are pretty widely available for under $50, and I paid $35 for mine. I really don't see how they can...

What PCDP can I get today...

I seriously doubt if any of today's players will be "legendary" years from now. Basically, the only reason older players are sought after is because today's players aren't good. That's why people are willing to pay a premium for an older player with no anti-skip and very high battery...
