Is the low sensitivity of K271's outweighed by their isolation? (iPod use)
Ipod 4G has an output power of 30mW @ 16 ohms. If I remember well AKG's k271 studio have a nominal impedance of 50 (55?) ohms. I use Senns hd570 (64 ohms and open cans) with my Zen touch (20mW @ 32 ohms) and I can use them even in noisy rooms pushing the player at the highest levels (say 20-22...- Dino

Anyone else ever get the urge to wear their giganto geeky-looking phones in public?
BTW I don't mind if someone thinks I'm ridicolous. Becouse I know that if someone laughs too much (or at least in a way that offends me) I can always Kick His Ass Until It Bleeds (K.H.A.U.I.B. that's an ugly sounding abbreviation...) :-) Cheers again!- Dino

Anyone else ever get the urge to wear their giganto geeky-looking phones in public?
I've been using my Senns HD570 for a month at home and in public. At first I feeled a little unconfortable but not now. I believe that people where I live (and at university) had never seen such a big pair of cans... By the way it's funny to look at those faces staring at you as you were an...- Dino

HD570 equalization & analog modeling with iZotope Ozone
After several hours of listening to my Sennheiser HD 570 I started working on some equalization to include into my future amp. I decided to cut a little the highs (around 9KHz) to smooth the drums. Also I boosted very low frequencies (30Hz) and mids (1KHz to bring in the voice). This...- Dino

Ok let's start. This is my first pair of serious headphones, I had some cheap earbuds (sony, philips don't even remember the model) before and a very cheap (and crappy) philips closed sovraaural cans (maybe 10-15€ range). I expected them a bit sturdier. But I'm getting used to it. They also...- Dino

newbie part 2 (hoping the last one)
Well after a thorough search I found a store who ships Grados. Prices are: 119 euros for sr60 and 159 for sr80. I think it's more or less twice the price in USA... (that's Italy after all, if you can't sell things for twice the price it's not worth selling them... ;-) I find them very...- Dino
