If I recall correctly, that doesn't make any difference. And as Octavius says the App is happily playing away but you hear nothing from the headphone output. I suspect something is not switching correctly on the Amp8 card until you re-insert the jack.

I've experienced this with my Amp8 Mk2, but I haven't seen it since I started using the 4.4 balanced output, never seen it on my Amp 5 mod. So, think it may be peculiar to the 3.5mm output on the Amp8 Mk2?

@Gator95 I too got my DX240 with the AMP8 Mk2 as default (with free AMP5 mod). I use my DX240 daily, in Android mode, when I commute to and from work, plus in the evenings when the mood strikes me. I charge it at the beginning of the week and will still have around 30% at the end of the week...
