ISN Earphones impression thread. New ISN NEO 3!
I've been using the ISN Neo 3 with my Cayin RU6 dongle and my Pixel 7 Pro phone for a while now. With a couple of other phones the background noise made the RU6 unusable, but the pairing of the Neo 3 with the RU6:and Pixel 7 Pro is stunning. The Neo 3s are my goto at the moment. The staging with...- dharmasteve

HiBy R6 III (Gen 3) Android digital audio player, Dual ES9038Q2M, Class A / AB amplification switch, Snapdragon 665, Open Android 12 OS, DSD512 / PCM768
With my Penon 10th Anniversary IEMs (different IEMs may need different settings) I use Bass .7, mids .3 and treble I leave on 0 because the EST treble on the 10th doesn't need any changes.- dharmasteve

HiBy R6 III (Gen 3) Android digital audio player, Dual ES9038Q2M, Class A / AB amplification switch, Snapdragon 665, Open Android 12 OS, DSD512 / PCM768
I cant really fault the HiBy R6 iii hardware. It seems a bit too pedantic to me to over amplify very minor issues. On the software side, Joe Blogg's dynamics HiBy DRX10K plugin is a gamechanger. To be able to change the dynamics of the R6iii systemwide is a game changer, and gives the R6iii the...- dharmasteve

The PENON official thread
They do suit the Neo 3, and really suit the Penon Fan 2. With the Cayin RU6 and even the cheap BGVP T01s simple USB DAC (works extraordinarily well) really suits, as a cheap option, with it's really small form, the ISN Neo 3. The BGVP T01s is just tiny and only just loses to the staging of the...- dharmasteve

Cayin RU6: R-2R USB Dongle DAC with Head-Amp
I've had the RU6 since it first came out. With my Xiaomi phone there was so much noise it was unusable. Same with an older Sony phone, so I stuck with my DAPs. Just picked up a Google Pixel phone and got the dust gathering Cayin out of the drawer......wow quite taken aback, no noise and a clean...- dharmasteve

The discovery thread!
It really makes me sad to see AI used to reword reviews. The use of language, adjectives, metaphors, similes, etc etc are an art form and creative skill....like literature. Not impressed at all.- dharmasteve

Great review. The TMSR X has no harshness to my old ears and like you the Penon 10th is my favourite IEM...'one ring to rule them all'...with a good copy it does every genre. The TMSR 10th is a fine IEM. As per usual...great photos. Love your descriptive use of language.- dharmasteve

Really good use of descriptive language for your review. It really gives me a good feel for the listening experience of the Quattro. I welcome a review that doesn't rely on graphs and charts and that uses the skills of language. Well done.- dharmasteve

Tansio Mirai Impressions Thread
It's hard to give a recipe for musicality. Just like a great violinist.. ..what creates a Yehudi Menuhin? There are many ingredients definitely including timbre.....and also tone, dynamics and with IEM's that have EST's (maybe not all) a fluid/liquid treble, organic sound. Bass that allows...- dharmasteve

Tansio Mirai Impressions Thread
Really great photos. After a long time with the TSMR X, I hold it in the same esteem as the Penon 10th. Not quite as musical, but such good bass on 011, great airiness, . Highs are very different to the EST highs, but nevertheless very detailed for me. Nothing fatiguing at all. I like it a lot...- dharmasteve

ISN Earphones impression thread. New ISN NEO 3!
The ISN Neo 3 is considerably more enjoyable than my Sound Rhyme SR5...to me of course. The SR5 is a good IEM though, but doesn't have that 'Je ne sais quoi', 'for me' though.- dharmasteve

ISN Earphones impression thread. New ISN NEO 3!
I concur with @DrewVz. The OG cable was pleasant but it was clear a cable change was needed. A XINHS Copper/Silver cable and Divinus Velvet tips cured that. What I hear with the Neo 3 is the most coherent IEM I have heard and the small, impressive' Planar effortlessly melds with the little DDs...- dharmasteve

Wow...incredibly comprehensive. 'Me too', as they say. I'm also a Penon 10th devotee. I know from meditation that both concentration and mindfulness meditations enable the mind to 'notice' subtle differences in listening experiences. As I rapidly age I listen more to enjoy, but the 'noticing'...- dharmasteve
