  thanks for the reply... i thought it was something to do with the ohms      i am absolutely amazed by the lcd-2; the driver failure is concerning but if anything happens hopefully audeze will be accommodating as it is a known issue.   btw; what would be the 'failure window' in terms...

totally agree if you don't like 'dark' then maybe the lcd-2 is not the choice... but if you like that open, wide sound stage sound , not too sure it gets much better than the hd800    (i am certain it does but then there is the law of diminishing returns etc)

i am enjoying my lcd-2 more than my hd800; maybe its just the new headphone honeymoon period but if nothing else they complement one another well

when drivers fail do they just stop working or do they slowly die (ie do the drivers get quieter or start crackling)?    certainly do not want to jinx myself but i have both the lcd-2 (2016 fazor) and lcd-2.2(pre-fazor) - at the same settings the 2016 sounds louder than the 2.2pf

  i agree but it is not that hard for a headphone to be brighter than the lcd-2.2 (pre-fazor)
