q-JAYS and a-JAYS with Cable Problems

I have a pair of q-JAYS and a pair of a-JAYS sitting around. They both have problems.   The q-JAYS cables are hosed. I used them for quite a while with tape around the end, but that was only a temporary solution. They are now cracked beyond repair. They are not covered under warranty because...

    Recabling q-jays

My q-JAYS recently developed a short at the base of the cable (not the extension). I've had problems with JAYS' cables in the past but it doesn't look like this will be covered under warranty as I got them used from a user here on Head-Fi last year. Is recabling at all a possibility?

    d-JAYS Cable Durability

Thanks for your replies. I'll have to look for a larger case. Quote: Originally Posted by Derivatives_Beast Keep it in a mint tin or small plastic case. What mint tin size would you suggest? I assume the altoids gum case is too small. What about the round altoids sours?

    d-JAYS Cable Durability

I purchased my first pair of d-JAYS in October 2007. About 5-6 months later, the extension cord developed a short near the base of the cord. Peter from Jays was very helpful in getting them replaced. The same thing is happening again. They don't get overly heavy use - less than 2 hours a day...

    m-JAYS with T-Mobile G1

Well, I just got my G1. I'm loving it so far, but I need some kind of earphone solution. I already have a pair of d-JAYS, so I think my best bet is to get the HTC m-JAYS adapter cable. Has anyone tried the m-JAYS cable with the G1? Are there any compatibly issues? On a separate note, what...

SQ on G1/Android phone from T-Mobile/HTC

I'm considering a G1. I'll probably continue to use my Cowon D2, but if the G1 had decent SQ, it would definitely be a plus. Has anyone tried it out?

    Anyone?

    Broken Senn HD 430

I have a pair of Senn HD 430s with a busted right channel. I've ruled out the possibility of a bad cable, so I took the things apart to check for any obvious problems. There seem to be very thin wires connecting the driver to the removable cable jack - I've managed to break the wire on the left...

    d-JAYS Filters

I've had d-JAYS since October, but had them replaced around a month ago due to a cable problem. I've actually never replaced my filters, but my current ones should be pretty fresh, as they have only been in use for about a month. Anyway, I was just wondering how often filters should...

Are Q-Jays that big a jump over D-Jays?

Thanks for the reply. The d-JAYS were also my first (and only! ) pair of earphones. I decided to get them after reading many reviews/posts on head-fi. I'm almost ready to pull the trigger on a Cowon D2 . I've read that both the q-JAYS and the D2 are supposed to sound somewhat cold and...

Are Q-Jays that big a jump over D-Jays?

I'm also considering upgrading my d-JAYS to q-JAYS. Any thoughts on this? Thanks!

    d-JAYS Attenuator?

I recently purchased a pair of d-JAYS earphones and am fairly satisfied with them thus far. I listen mostly with a portable CD player and on a computer and have noticed a background hiss. Also, you can crank the volume to 30 but the loudest comfortable volume for me is 2 or 3. This isn't...
