X-can v8P vs X-can V8
I would not rate the USB DAC highly in the X-can v8P. It's so so. I think any decent USB DAC for $200+ will trump the DAC section of the v8P. However, the Pre-amp and Headphone amp sections are pretty good. I have further improved them by getting an X-PSU-8 Power Supply and modding the v8P...- denp

My Beresford TC7520 DAC initial impressions. 56K, abandon hope all ye who enter.
I also had a chance to compare the Oritek and the 7520. The Beresford only has some 30 hours on it. The main difference is in the soundstage, I would say. Oritek produces a narrower stage, although, perhaps, somewhat more 3d. You also feel that are you a distance away from the stage, covered by...- denp

Lavry DA10 Inputs...which is better XLR/Optical...and best way to get it there from pc
You should consider Trends Audio UD10.1 device. You can get them cheaper these days. A highly versatile unit - you can link it to your PC and then use either Toslink, Coax or XLR link to connect to your DA10. You can certainly take advantage of your XLR input. Sound quality of Trends conversion...- denp

Beresford 7520 or what DAC as source for K1000?
I would say 7520 is a very decent source, so fully recommend it. Slightly different signature from Oritek V4.1, however, very appealing indeed. Just a tad more bass than the Oritek. 7520 still burning in though...- denp

Trouble with headphones with Beresford 7520
I find the 7520 headamp to be a very good match with the Denons D2000 (against a fully specced up MF X-CAN V8P with XPSU V8 + MF MODs!). Bought the 7520 as a dedicated DAC - turned out to be a great Headamp too. Still burning in, so early days for a proper comment.- denp

Esoteric SA-50
True, there is such a gap in the market! Excellent Transport, SACD player & multiple input DAC. How difficult can it be to produce a multi-functional box like this? Looks like a well built machine. How about a price drop, though...- denp

Headphones For The Gym
what about noise cancelling phones? Gym can be a noisy environment, especially with cable disturbances. Sennhs PCX-300 - great option. The only thing you will have to carry a stick (with 2 aaa batterries) that is the active module.- denp
