Sony WF-1000X discussion thread: Truly wireless IEM with Active Noise Cancelling!
Hey GatMan, thanks for the insight so far. What are the steps to switch between the iPad and the iPhone for this? Is it still the same old steps below? Or could you skip steps 1 and 2? 1) Turn headphones off 2) Turn headphones back on in pair mode 3) Go to Bluetooth settings in the iPad/iPhone...- defn

For anyone wondering if the ZX300 charges faster with a 10W charger (e.g. an iPad charger), it doesn't. Just plugged it in to my Omnicharge and the maximum power draw was around 4.90W.- defn

Unfortunately these conversations usually go on for more than 30 seconds, which is what I would mark as the sociably acceptable threshold when performing such a gesture.- defn

Some people in the device's thread claim it matches some IEMs that cost over USD$1000. I'm not that much of an aficionado but from what I've heard so far (a small set of IEMs, really) only the Campfire Andromedas are a step up in audio quality. They cost 6x more however and are a nightmare to...- defn

My recommendation would be to start with the XBA-N3BP. I just got a pair recently and they are perfect for work as the effort to get a fit or remove it is absolutely minimal with the triple comfort tips. I have the 1000X too and LDAC works very well. However it's a bit of a hassle to remove...- defn

After a few days of pairing the N3BP with the ZX300, I can safely say that I’ve finally found THE pair of commuting IEMs. They have almost zero cable noise, stick in the ear really comfortably, are really easy to fit with the triple comforts and isolate bus and MTR noise really well. Most...- defn

Sony XBA-N3AP and XBA-N1AP — Impressions thread
Just tested both yesterday and I can say that the Andromeda is a step change from the N3BP in terms of detail. That said however, it’s six times the price of the N3BP and getting a sealed fit was a chore for my ears.- defn

Just tried these in Japan and I’m pretty impressed. Quick question on the refurbs, do they come with the complete set including the airplane cables? Thanks.- defn

My apologies, I actually meant the MDR-1AM2. And yes those were just my personal opinions. I’m sure there are lots who will value the lighter weight, but it just doesn’t feel right on my big head :)- defn

Just tested a bunch in Tokyo today. Sennheiser IE800s (Balanced): Pretty disappointing given the price. I felt it sounded unengaging and hollow. Sennheiser HD660S (Balanced): Hard to tell due to noise. Seems like the ZX300 can drive it pretty decently but it reminded me of why I don’t like...- defn

So I received my Earmax balanced cable for my 8.A and tried it out straight away. Initially I wasn’t impressed by it at all. The sound seem muffled compared to the SE output which had about 100 hours of burn in. After about 40 hours of burn in though, I can say that there seems to be a veil...- defn

Another thing that drives me nuts with LDAC on the MDR-1000X, separate volume controls on the player and headphone. Can’t they just get along?- defn

Anyone using LDAC (Sound quality preferred) on a regular basis for daily commutes? It sounds glorious but connection is super spotty unless I have the ZX300 in my chest pocket. Just wondering if it’s a symptom of the crowded spectrum here in Hong Kong.- defn
