I didn’t have time to try that one, unfortunately. My local dealer carries Dita, so maybe I’ll get to hear it there.

Thanks, my man! Ahh, I see. In any case, ‘still a better treble than a lot of IEMs with far fussier configs. ;)

CanJam Singapore 2025 Impressions Thread (April 5-6, 2025)

Cross-posting from the Watercooler thread... CANJAM SINGAPORE 2025 Another year, another CanJam. While this occasion, to me, used to entail solo travel, exhausting coverage and a rush for content, the past few couldn’t have been more different. I get to go on these trips with my wife now and...

And, drum roll please… CANJAM SINGAPORE 2025 Another year, another CanJam. While this occasion, to me, used to entail solo travel, exhausting coverage and a rush for content, the past few couldn’t have been more different. I get to go on these trips with my wife now and have an actual...

For the first time in a long time, after CanJam SG, this was a piece of cake. ;)

I was lugging around a Mjolnir throughout all of CanJam SG. Anything’s portable if you lift enough. 😉

There used to be tons of IEM knock-offs on TaoBao, and they'd have the exact same components as the real thing. I remember fake Vision Ears IEMs that even replicated the blue-and-gold wiring, as well as the VE engraving on all the drivers. :D But, now that most high-end brands use either...

Yeah, it's their product line for anything they've modified with aftermarket wiring and solder (among other things, especially for their Walkman mod). The Soundwriter - once it left the prototyping stage - wasn't called Project K; it was a part of Project K.

I missed it as well; ‘couldn’t find FiR’s table for crying out loud. 😄 Those who’ve heard it have said it has a warm U-shape with pretty relaxed vocals and an outstanding bass. Though, I’ve also heard a couple people say they prefer the Rn6. So, it could be yet another co-flagship of sorts for FiR.

I actually recently got the chance to audition the Dio with the APEX cable after my musings about its messy launch. My thoughts on the pairing is honestly mixed. On one hand, it offered staging and air I couldn’t replicate when I swapped the cable out for Effect Audio’s Code 51. The 51 created a...

No such thing exists, nor has there been any indication that it will. If it eventually does, I’d hope it comes out at the $6-7K price range that they’ve promised for the past 2 years. Now that would create some interesting competition and really undercut the HEX.

It’s in SGD, so it’s actually 2/3 the price of Dio, which is a wild thing to say about a US$9000 IEM. What a world… what a world… 😄

I completely agree. The Onyx is the IEM that felt the most elevated (or made, even) by a BCD to me. The Macbeth and 622B are up there too. The AP is one where a BCD was absolutely necessary for its unique sound, even though it wasn’t for me. But, in most other cases, I’ve found BCDs either...

There’s no info on Mysticraft yet aside from a newborn Instagram page: https://www.instagram.com/mysticraft.ar?igsh=ZXc2MG9zcjB4Zmpk If you look at their followers, though, you might spot a few dealers, through whom we can likely expect new info soon.

What makes audio unique is that you can’t use numbers or objective measurements to quantify a product’s performance. Unlike a 5090, whose frame rates and frame times can be read plain as day, IEMs don’t have a universal “score” we can judge them or their value propositions off of. They’ll also...
