Does anyone know where still to get the Hippo VB?
Has anyone found a replacement for the Hippo VB's? I loved mine and had the cord break on me, plus dog chewing issues, so I am out of luck. Anyone find something comparable at around the same pricing point? I LOVED the bass with these IEMs. Thanks, Zac- DeepwaterKoi

JVC HA-FX101-A-E VS JVC HA-FX101B/R/G....ETC
Great, so I overpaid and will have to wait for a long time for the exact same IEM? Hopefully I can cancel my order before it is too late.- DeepwaterKoi

JVC HA-FX101-A-E VS JVC HA-FX101B/R/G....ETC
Based on recommendations for a budget bass head IEM I have pulled the trigger on these monitors. However I couldn't find them locally so I tried amazon. There seem to be differences between the models and whether the overseas versions are better. Here is what I ended up buying...- DeepwaterKoi

Best IEM for a bass head?
Okay so what is the difference between all the different ha-fx101 models? Does it just refer to the color or are there differences in the sound? I believe I had tried these before and wasn't very happy, but then again I never put them through a burn-in process. Maybe they are better...- DeepwaterKoi

Best IEM for a bass head?
It has been a while since I have posted here because I am not really a headphone junkie but this website is the best source for real reviews. I have been using the Hippo VB's for the last couple years and after a long burn in process they sounded great. I was happy with the bass, but I...- DeepwaterKoi

Quote: I have tried all sorts of positions and pressures with no avail. I have let them burn in for the last 48 hrs hoping that would fix the issue but that didn't work either. I do have to say it seems a little less of a difference between each side but I may just be tricking myself...- DeepwaterKoi

Quote: This is CRAZY!!!!! I just got my replacement set from Jaben and I am having the exact same problem. The right channel has much more powerful bass than the left (it is most noticeable with bass but the whole spectrum seems weaker on the left ear piece). I can switch the right...- DeepwaterKoi

Yeah I lift my ear, I roll the foam down to as small as possible and insert them until the nozzle won't go any further and after a couple seconds of expansion from the foam It has a complete seal. I can hear the driver cracking and lightly popping when i move the nozzle around which from what I...- DeepwaterKoi

Quote: I have tried all of the tips and I can't get the sound level to be the same out of each ear. I thought it might be my left ear that is at issue, but when I switch the left and right nozzles the left ear now has more sound than the right. I am using the comply foam tips so i...- DeepwaterKoi

When I first received my VB's I thought I noticed a difference between the left and right balance, but since I was listening to them on my phone I couldn't play with the balance controls. Well yesterday I hooked them up to my laptop and started playing music through Winamp. I was then able to...- DeepwaterKoi

Quote: Thanks for the clarification ;) Quote: No I haven't, but thanks for the suggestion. It is REALLY hard to figure out which reviews are really about HUGE BASS and which are huge bass because the reviewer prefers mids and highs. Have you ever tried the VB's? If so then how...- DeepwaterKoi

I am mostly using my Samsung Galaxy Blaze with Pandora. Like I said at the beginning of this thread I am a fabricator so I need to carry the equipment around in my pocket while I work so the smaller the better for me. I don't know how an amp would work for me unless it had its own battery...- DeepwaterKoi

I just got the Hippo VBs today and they are an improvement.... The fit is much better for my ear than the ath-cks55's so that is nice. I am still using the Comply t400 tips I got so they stay in place very well. The VBs came with a large assortment of tips so maybe there is another tip...- DeepwaterKoi
