I ended up selling the valhalla2.... was fun experimenting with tubes, but I organically shifted to my magnius/modius stack. I think there is room for the Valhalla2 for the collector and experimenter, but for me, my tastes are largely pedestrian and I'm happy with my LCD-3/Mod/Mag stack.

I don’t have an answer for you, but the valhalla2 even with stock tubes, changed my life. I’m driving the lcd-3s with this setup via the möbius dac. I also have the magnius which is also damn good. I have a smattering of old us and Russian tubes to eventually try.
