How to listen to the genre lo-fi?

Just to clarify, I'm referring to bands like Sleigh Bells Plasticines, some NIN, and others--Not just 128kbps mp3 files.     So we should be faithful to how its supposed to sound?   The example that comes to mind is electric guitar.   Instrument speakers roll off frequencies all over the...

How to listen to the genre lo-fi?

At first this started as a bad joke.  What headphones are best for lo-fi?  But then I thought more about it and wondered.  Because the music is supposed to sound lo-fi, should we try and replicate that as much as possible, or rather should we listen to it through the crappiest...

Don't like portapros. Is it just me?

Yes, I'm aware that this sounds like me trolling.  Bear with me though.   I started with Sony earclips>horrible noise cancel phones>SK ink'd>SK skullcrushers>Image S4>Portapros   The left tweeter in my S4s died, so I returned them to Best Buy.  Out of curiosity, I picked up a pair of...

Does listening fatigue cause hearing damage?

sorry, in my experience, not a lot of people take you seriously in internet forums.  I just figured that went without saying here.

Does listening fatigue cause hearing damage?

Quote: Let me preface this by saying that even at age 5 I noticed ringing. My parents weren't listening to loud music.  My grade school gave us a couple hearing tests which I passed just fine.  Perhaps I notice it more than others?  Recently I thought I was going deaf until I cleaned my...

Does listening fatigue cause hearing damage?

Just trying the whole not listening to music thing and its really seeming to help.  I'll give it the weekend and I won't worry about it.   And yes, using $250 Sures with a $70 zune does seem quite outrageous.  I thought using $80 IEMs was bad

Does listening fatigue cause hearing damage?

I have permanent titinius due to a Dropkick Murphies concert.  My sister insisted we stand in the very front row.  I don't have trouble hearing, just constant noise :/.   So I bought a pair of Klipsch image s4s and I find the highs fatiguing.  I usually listen to around 2-3 hours a day...

    AM to Line in mod?

Turns out the solder points on the bottom of the potentiometer were L/mono/ground Flipped the board over and redid it from the other side, just had to make L&R beep test tones. Not hard, just irritating as the adapter kept falling out of my ipod. SQ is well... eh Hold it about 16" in...

    AM to Line in mod?

Well, sort of anyways. I removed the AM antennae and soldered a 3.5 mm jack to the volume wheel. I soldered to the wrong side of the potentiometer so volume is controlled by my zune, not a huge deal. Gotta redo it anyways, it makes bad contact on one side. *bad idea here* While I was at it...

    AM to Line in mod?

Thanks guys. My idea was this: cut a slot in the boombox, wire it up and put one of the tiny usb adapters attached to the AC in. It'd charge my zune and play it, like an Ihome Zune, except about $5. If I killed a $35 5 year old boombox, I wouldn't really care. Forgot about the signal...

    AM to Line in mod?

I have a 5 year old Wally World CD/Radio brand boom box, an ihome and a zune. Notice none of these items go together Anyways, my idea: Can I solder a 3.5 mm jack to the AM loop inside? I never use the AM radio, ever. I rarely ever use this boom box either. I was just thinking it'd be nice...

Headphones you regretted buying the most

@OP I actually like my Skullcrushers... lol. For $40 I think I got my money's worth. They're good because they viberate to the beat, not because they have subwoofers. Dollar-store headphones. I paid $1 just to take them apart for wire and still feel like I got ripped off. Also RCA HP NC100...
