ALO Audio 'The Continental' Mobile Vacuum Tube Amplifier
I found the best use for it to be with (Great with everything but shines with) live albums, vinyls, and pop albums because it really brings out the best of the recordings making it to me sound more "alive" . It has a slight warmth nothing that will not coat the music, just enhances it. There will be a nice hop in sound stage depending what you were using before. I use it to power my LCD 2 R1 so it does put out enough juice for planer magnetics minus I believe the hifiman he6. My biggest issues would be battery life 5-7hours (will degrade to... -
Sennheiser HD 700 Headphone
Let me begin by saying there is nothing special about these headphones. My first impression of them made me smile because I fell in love with the oral shaped ear cups (I'm a sucker for "small" full ear headphones). Comfort is a highlight that sennheiser did not lose when they made these headphones. But when your paying $1000 dollars on headphones comfort shouldn't sway you from giving up large gapes of audio quality. ALO audio 22awg OCC Cryo Dock
This is one of the last things you need to upgrade when your making your portable rig. Vs the fiio L9 this lod cable was a big step up. The first thing that will hit you is the increase in volume and clarity. You will find better imaging and the feeling of your headphones opening up or becoming unveiled. The down side is that since its not right angled like the L9 it will make your portable rig longer. I personal love the way it looks and would reccomend it to anyone who has expensive gear using not so good cables. -
AKG K 702 Headphones
About a little lower then half a pound in weight it is amazying how comfortable this thing is. The ear cups are angled so its hits your ear in a more natural position. The soundstage is wide and airy but not able to pin point anything like sennheiser hd 800. I would reccomend people to buy the earlyier one with 7 bumps on the headband because it has more bass. For the price its the best you can get. Sennheiser hd 600 or 650 are side grades for more money, just depends on taste. Any of the world class head phones will be the perfect step up from...
