I just bought a used pair of 595s and they are in practically mint condition. I saw someone say they clean them. I'd like to do this--what would you recommend? Like those Lysol wipes? And how would I go about cleaning the ear pads? I don't want to buy replacement pads as the cost of that would...

It's not so much that I'm a basshead, but I don't feel like the 580s go very deep. I like deep controlled bass. And the Beyers don't seem like they're for me if they can be strident, my biggest pet peeve. I'm leaning towards giving the 595s a shot.

Source is a NAD 521i. I have no problem with the source itself. I just have regular monster IC's, I'm not one to get started with esoteric cords. I'd really just looking for a little more bass and stuff. I may try the 595s.

A little while back I went from the 555 to the 580s. I like them both. But I feel like I'm not getting much bass with the 580s. Before you ask, I do have them amped, with a Perreaux. Would the 595s be better for me? I listen to mostly rock and some jazz. Thanks for the advice.

Thanks guys. I'm not good with soldering so I'll only do that once it becomes unusable. Until then, fiddling it is.

Often times the left channel will cut out, and I couldn't figure out what the culprit was until just now. It's, somehow, the volume knob. If I push it or turn it, or even touch it, the channel will start to cut out. If I leave it alone once it's right it'll be okay, but I have to fiddle a little...

Great 'phones. I loved them, and to this day they're the most comfy ones I've ever worn!

I just ordered the Grado adapter myself. That barrel thing just isn't a great idea.
