With the audio going out of LOD, the sound shouldn't be different at all, should it?

I always had to switch out the optical cable and the RCA cables. Annoying, but that's seemingly the only way.

Is OGG Vorbis 160 kbps same as 160 kbps MP3? All I know is that Spotify uses 160 OGG to 320 OGG.

Don't know if the 2009 model of Macbook Pro compares with 2010 model, but the 2009 model sounds like my onboard PC desktop audio. Not great. But acceptable, I only use AD700 and AV 40 studio monitors for the MBP and PC.

They removed the DTS from being an active DSP and it will only work with v1.1 beta as well. You should update, but that doesn't help either. I don't exactly know what the DTS Decoder does now.
