Updating the motherboard bios seems to have fixed the problem with the distortion.

Using wired usb-a to usb-c connector no amps. The problem disappears when 3D is turned of. It sounds like when you turn bad speakers to high and it gets distorted.

My headphones in 3D mode all of a sudden sound very scratchy/crackling, if I turn 3D mode off it disappears. Can anyone help out with this? Also the volume sometimes just goes up and down while the windows volume is constant

hmm the PC power supply is grounded to the wall outlet and motherboard is grounded to the PC case. It's connected to the usb-a port on the motherboard. Can improper grounding cause the coil whine noise in the headphone even though the signal is digital?

The cables fastened pretty securely they don't seem loose. I will try some new usb-a to usb-c cables tomorrow to see if this helps.

Since the iphone supports sending digital audio over lightning, is there any reason a lightning to usb-c cable wont work with the mobius? And if it does will it be able to charge it while connected?
