I have only tried it on an X to be fair - I am struggling to see how the 8 Plus will be any different - if its AAC codec which it will be then it will be the same volume level. Will try it on a OnePlus 5T at one point this week though as that has aptX HD - no LDAC yet though.

Its apparently using AAC on the iPhone so will be transcoding from OGG->AAC before streaming.

Strange - my MBP makes them go louder which is strange - no idea why. iPhone X with Spotify and iOS 11.2 and AAC encoding according to the app and the volume doesn't go *that* loud MBP with High Sierra and Spotify and streaming using AptX goes noticeably louder - loud enough. Wonder why it...

I'm using Spotify which is Ogg at 320kbps I think? Mine don't sound *that* loud to me? Are you on an iPhone as well? Haven't played with settings yet think DSEE was on and equaliser was off. Not sure.

What quality are these streaming at on iPhone X? SBC? Anyone know the bitrate? The volume seems a bit on the low side on them through the iPhone - anyone else get that? Also a 2017 MBP can that stream at anything above aptX or SBC? Thanks

Can the PHA-3 take a feed from an iPhone 6 ? Also where is the best place to get a NW-ZX2 from Accessory Jack don't have them yet and I'm a bit scared to buy one from one of these Japanese shop forwarding companies.   (I'm in the UK)

So should I just get ZX2 (have some XBA-40iPs for now to use with it) or get another player and the PHA-3 ?   (I can't really do both)

So let me quickly get this straight. Sony want you to buy an NW-ZX2 and the PHA-3 amp together ?   Thats the better part of 1500 GBP for them both.   Is that really worth it ?
