    Bowers&Wilkins new flagship the P9!

Comparing the P9 with the Z7, the quality of the P9 is clearly a class above the Z7. The biggest problem with the Z7 is distant midrange and rolled of highs. The P9 has none of these issues and has even more detail in the treble. (I'm not using a Dragonfly BTW, Magni/Modi 2 stack).

    Bowers&Wilkins new flagship the P9!

Just got these for a very low price, 600 dollars . Comparing them with my Sony MDR-Z7 the P9 definitely has a better soundstage and overall beter sound signature. However, I don't know who thinks this design is particularly comfortable. The pads are extremely hard and the headband has a lot of...

Audeze iSINE 10 & iSINE 20: Audeze releases two new IEM planar magnetic earphones

In the Netherlands, the Audeze iSINE 20 has the same retail price as the Sennheiser IE800. It would be very helpful if anyone could compare these two, not just sound signature but also on the level of resolution and overall quality.

What kind of Sony is this??

Pretty sure it's a fake. Just look at the picture on the box and the headphone itself...

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

The headphone has been re-added to the Dutch Philips website, it's now saying "coming soon" (in Dutch).   There has been a price increase of 50 euros, it normally costs 299, now it is 349. That is 60 dollars extra.    So it seems they are only increasing the price, and not discontinuing the...

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

I can confirm that the X2 has now been removed from the Dutch Philips website (where the headquarters are). It seems that indeed the production has stopped and Philips themselves have stopped selling them.

The Mi Headphones by Xiaomi (Lively Discussions starting Page 7)

I was able to listen to this headphone a few weeks ago. Maybe it was a prototype and they have improved things now, because it sounded rather .. strange. I can't really explain why, but it seemed that the low, mids and highs were off by a big mark.  Like, the low-end is boomy and doesn't extend...

    Sony's new flagship 2014 - MDR-Z7

The leather on the back of the headband (where your head rests on) is starting to wrinkle with mine Z7 (horizontal lines). Do you guys have the same?   I'm afraid it will not last more than a few years.    Also, the joints have started to squeak.

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

I noticed it also makes them softer (less itchy), more comfortable you could say.

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

Alright, I emailed Woox Hongkong a few days ago about the issues with the dye. Yesterday, I got a detailed response from them (in Dutch). I have translated the answer, so the grammar might not be perfect:   "The amount of dyes used in the Fidelio X2 pads is of such a small amount that it can...

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

I just got a long and detailed reaction from my contact at Woox Innovations in Hongkong. I will post it tomorrow morning (it's quite late now). It's about the dye used, why they chose to use it, what's exactly going on and how to get rid of it if you have a problem with it.

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

It's a small factory, so the production capacity is limited. Also, they are selling a quite bit faster than anticipated (I guess).    I got this document from Philips, which describes all the substances used in production: http://www.woox.com/en/about-us-site/Documents/WOOX_RSL.pdf    I do...

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

I rinsed them in warm water. After that, I placed them next to a window with (strong) sunlight.   I remember some other head-fi'ers doing this with the X2 pads.

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

After I soaked my pads in water, the pads became softer (no more itchy itchy) and no more ink bleed. I just let them dry in the sun.

    Sony's new flagship 2014 - MDR-Z7

I think that some parts of a headphone, like comfort and design, are also important. The Z7 is by far the most comfortable headphone available. It also doesn't need crazy amounts of amplification and the sound is lovely. I do not understand why it is regarded as "quite not there", the Sony...
