driving SE535LTD-J with iPhone 6s
The EU volume limit only works with the built in Music app. If you're using s DragonFly you wouldn't want to use this because it it is limited to 16 / 48 where else a proper app can output 24 / 96 which is what the DragonFly supports. You'll also be using high definition FLAC and ALAC files...- cyclonite

driving SE535LTD-J with iPhone 6s
Yes I believe it's the same because that's a standard iOS volume bar. The SE535 will sound great between 3 - 5 bars. Anything over would be too loud and could damage them. The Red's output is very powerful. By the way, this is a great DAC if you're looking for portability and convenience. If...- cyclonite

driving SE535LTD-J with iPhone 6s
Hello, Yes definitely. iPhones are really thin and compact thus the components are minimal in design. In any case, an external audiophile DAC will outperform any smartphone's built in DAC. Even with the DragonFly, I still need to use the EQ to get reasonable bass. Without EQ the music...- cyclonite

driving SE535LTD-J with iPhone 6s
Hello all, Does anyone feel that the iPhone 6s' built in amp is rather weak? I have the Samsung version of the 6s (if it makes a difference). Anyway, I was previously using the Shure E4c and had to set the volume all the way up to max (with EU sound limit turned on in Options) and yet it...- cyclonite

Iphone 6 / Spotify / Audio Technica ES10 / Shure SE535
The iPhone's built in amp tends to be weaker than those on Android devices though, which is why Apple wants to do away with the 3.5mm jack.- cyclonite

P.S.: I've just read here that silver plated copper cables are best avoided as they reduce the bass. Argh I'm even more confused now. Please help! http://www.atlascables.com/conductor-types.html- cyclonite

Advice on 3.5mm to MMCX upgrade cable for Shure SE535LTD
Hello, I have done some searching around this forum and reading several threads, but I am unable to find the answers to a few basic questions. I would appreciate any advice you experts could give me on these. 1) How can I tell whether the cable is soft or stiff from the description? Do...- cyclonite

Need help with AC interference on DC power supply output
Hi, Yes I have spent almost an entire day searching for 18v ones to no avail. To further complicate matters, I am not sure whether the Phono Box has a built in voltage regulator so I had to make sure the wall adaptor is regulated. You've raised a good point about the AC line quality. I'll...- cyclonite
