Gentle filter sounds great but I believe it is ever so slightly softer and slower...if I'm not mistaken. I was using Vivid for a long time cause at least on paper...it fits my preferences, however, I've settled on Composite...for now. There doesn't appear to be big differences between them all...

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the drivers on the XTC's are beryllium coated...unlike the Focal Utopia/Stellia which are made from pure beryllium. Either way...the drivers on my own personal beryllium XTC2 Open's are tight and fast as hell for a dynamic driver, heh

I would keep a firm eye on Aoshida Audio, especially their ebay page. Have noticed unintentionally that they keep flip flopping their prices for the X26III every other day. Standard price for it here in the UK on Aoshida Audio is £1299 but so many times recently they've lowered it for £1169...

Good to hear Martin! 'Energy' is exactly what I want as most of the stuff I listen to has it. Will hook up the X26III to my U18 DDC via I2S and H26 amp when it arrives :thumbsup:

@MartinWT in official Gustard promotional literature, it mentions how the new X26III's overall sound signature is 'warm'. Does that mean the top end is slightly rolled off from your experience? Just ordered one and hoping that the X26III is well extended up top...like my Gustard X18 :thinking:

I was actually very disappointed with my H26 when I fired it up straight from the box. Why you might ask? Well...it sounded almost EXACTLY the same as my H16 lol. Gave the H26 a thorough burn-in and now...it does NOT sound the same although to be fair...they still share some similarities. In...
