HiBy R6 III (Gen 3) Android digital audio player, Dual ES9038Q2M, Class A / AB amplification switch, Snapdragon 665, Open Android 12 OS, DSD512 / PCM768
@Joe Bloggs hi can you tell me if the popping clicking sounds are normal for this player or is there a problem with mine? Also is the stutter when skipping some songs normal for the player? Like it will replay a split second of the song before it skips to next track. As I mentioned earlier...- cthomas

@Joe Bloggs I was just playing with the settings in the Hiby app and turned on sample rate limiting. This seems to have stopped the crackling/popping. I then turned the same setting on in the system settings and turned it off on the Hiby app and tried playing some music but the problem returned...- cthomas

Thanks. I’ll try that tonight. Should I update the player after resetting? And just to clarify, should I be getting any clicking/cracking at all? Ive been reading some old posts and it seems some people are getting at least a slight clicking noise when skipping tracks and some aren’t getting...- cthomas

Ok thanks. Not sure if you saw my comment about the poweramp app I don’t think that’s normal as I couldn’t find any info about my specific problem. Just to mention the cracking sound when changing tracks is more emphasised when sample rate of the song changes, sometimes really bad when I get...- cthomas

Yes, MSEB and/or PEQ, but the problem also happens without any turned on. I noticed it improved by turning off battery saver, so now there’s no crack sound when turning the screen on/off but still getting it changing tracks, sometimes it gets quite loud much louder than the music volume. Also...- cthomas

I tried out poweramp app and it seems it allows me to scan through a single song unlike the Hiby player so I guess it’s just app dependent. I was having issues getting the app working properly though because when I skip songs it does some weird things… When I press next track it will repeat...- cthomas

Getting crackling when adjusting some settings like dark theme toggle, also sometimes turning the screen on and off I hear it soon after turning music off, occasionally occurs in the middle of some songs randomly. Apart from the crackling problem the player sounds really good tho, I’d like to...- cthomas

So far I’ve tried HD660s high gain and Hype 4 low. Getting it on both when changing tracks. Volume around 80 Also asking if it’s somehow possible to skip through a single track without the screen on?- cthomas

I also seem to be getting the crack/pop sound when skipping tracks. It’s quite loud sometimes, is there something I can do to fix this? Is it also normal to be getting very slight/quiet crackling when sliding the volume up/down?- cthomas
