Happens to me too. The update got rid of the woosh, but I still have that occasional incredibly high-pitched hissing/scratching sound. Happens every once in a while. Not really noticeable when music or video is playing.

On the AudezeHQ software, are you using the penrose profile, connected via usb and showing "connected" on the right side of the software? When I went to the firmware tab the new firmware was there. Remember to unplug the wireless dongle.

If you're honest about why you're returning them (e.g., I don't like the sound), return shipping is not free in my experience.   edit - Still, less than 10 dollars to audition headphones about a month is pretty good imo.

Got some JMoney pads. I don't like what they do to the w1000x. They become bass monsters in a bad way. Sound becomes muddy, distant and too dark. And they're so thick that the top of the pads push hard against my head while the bottoms stay open instead of sitting flatly. Interested in the L3000...

Have had the W1000X for about a week and completely agree about the sound being pretty great. I don't miss the T1 as I listen to them, like I did before with the T70's.   Really dislike how the pads sit on my ears though. Those of you with the Jmoney pads, do your ears fit inside those pads...

try it with some other player like videolan. could be just nero.
