Headphone amp circuit help
Hi, I'm a first year electronics engineering student. I've taken on an extra project for myself to build a headphone amp. I'd say my basics are quite good and I'm ready to start building it (been reading a lot of theory for the past month and got help from my teachers), so I was wondering if...- ConGrUenCy

[Noob] Do I need a DAC or an Amplifier in my situation?
Quote: +1 From my onboard soundcard, I could notice the background hiss and disturbance, which almost completely disappeared with a DAC (the Musiland Monitor 02US if you're interested).- ConGrUenCy

help on DAC for Grado 225i
I just got my Musiland Monitor 02 today, and it is really good. I can now hear details that I couldn't hear before and the bass has increased quite a bit in quantity and quality. It is still burning in, so I will post more impressions soon.- ConGrUenCy

Amp advice for music only.
If your source is a laptop, and you like classical music, then a DAC might be a better investment for an M50. Or if you're willing to spend 600-50 euros, you can just get a better pair of headphones, which will improve the sound more than anything else.- ConGrUenCy

upgrading from grado 225-amp+dac or rs2
Imo, the Musiland Monitor 02US is better than the uDAC. As others have said, Grados don't really need an amp, so get a decent DAC and then save for other cans.- ConGrUenCy

Grado ms-1 as first headphones
I stay in India too, in Mumbai. My first headphones were Grado SR225i's and I like them very much. I got my Grado's from a relative who was visiting from the US. Getting electronics in to India is a big pain due to custms, etc. It always better to have someone going abroad to bring them for you.- ConGrUenCy

$300 Amp recommendation for Fostex T50RP and future Grado SR325is
+1 to the M Stage. That particular Chinese dealer (coolfungadget) has 100% feedback, so I wouldn't worry about that. Also, I've heard that all e-mails are replied to very promptly. http://myworld.ebay.com/coolfungadget/- ConGrUenCy
