Durable Earbuds I Can Work In, But Not Cringe At In Bed?
So backstory time. I run a 5th gen iPod rocking Rockbox and flash memory. I currently have no amp I can take with me, but this post will cover that. So anyway, I cut grass during summer. Cliche teenage job requires music in earbuds that don't fall out. That is probs the most important thing...- CollinC

Crackle Through USB Audio Devices When Plugged In To External Power
As a quick fix, I think I'll just cut off the ground pin from the cable, or pick up a cheater plug. I've never had a power surge in the 16 years I've been at this house, and I'll buy a piece of gear the really fix the grounding loop. Thanks a ton!- CollinC

Crackle Through USB Audio Devices When Plugged In To External Power
I was thinking about cutting the ground off, but if there was a power surge, could it fry my laptop?- CollinC

Crackle Through USB Audio Devices When Plugged In To External Power
Anything that wouldn't cost the same as 3 of my USB device? Also, note that it does the same thing with all USB ports.- CollinC

Crackle Through USB Audio Devices When Plugged In To External Power
So first off, I have a Dell Inspiron 15 3542. I got this second hand from an acquaintance for basically nothing without the HDD. I use a UCA202 USB running to a UB1202 mixer , and acts the same way with my Xenyx 302USB mixer (haven't tested mic interference, nor care to; what matters is it has...- CollinC

Best USB Adapter for Audio Mixer?
So this Christmas I'm upgrading from my Behringer 302USB I got last year, but I'm kind of unsure what I want to do for actually getting the audio to the PC without the mixer being USB because it'd be annoying to try and get everything just right with my audio racks. My budget is only about $100...- CollinC

Options For My FIrst "Real" DAP
Update time! So basically the iPod cost me $5 in the ned. I have the LCD on my desk, but am still waiting on the flash memory and adapter and front plate. The HDD only let's me hold no more than 3 albums before it starts clicking, so I haven't been able to test a whole lot. But I have been...- CollinC

Options For My FIrst "Real" DAP
I got the iPod today, in nothing but a bubble mailer. Basically, it needs a new LCD, HDD, and front panel, only the latter which was planned. But it looks like I'll get my full refund AND keep the iPod. So I'll upgrade the memory with...- CollinC

Options For My FIrst "Real" DAP
Bummer... I was hoping I could switch over to Apple firmware when I needed to play music for a long time and save power. Will ID3 tags added via iTunes work in Rockbox with album art? I've got 16GB of music that would be a real pain to re-tag.- CollinC

Options For My FIrst "Real" DAP
So I got a 30GB Classic for $49.12. Less than $50 . Anyway, songs added via iTunes can be played in Rockbox, correct?- CollinC

Options For My FIrst "Real" DAP
Usually I check my spelling better. Oh well. Anyway, I'm bidding on a 5G right now for the third time today. It seems to be the only option left, as the Colorfly won't fit my needs with that UI and high price tag compared to the gear it'll connect to. The 1G nano looked great, but I need at...- CollinC

Options For My FIrst "Real" DAP
So my 5G iPod Nanog to stolen, forcing me to finally make the upgrade to something with more decent quality. I've done a lot of research, but all I really see is "Sansa, Sansa, iPod, Sansa, iPod, Sansa..." The only Sansa devices that could work for me is the Fuze and Zip. My brother has a Fuze+...- CollinC
