Lynx2 vs. Anything Else?
If you want to try the LynxTwo, and are only using it for two-channel listening, you really only need the Lynx L22 which can be had for about $625 or so. I know Lynx L22/Two users, but all have made the jump directly to the Lynx, and comparisons are rare. As for the previous comment made...- cjr888

Information on this Toshiba?
Nice timing. I just bought one of these units from OneCall, and after the fact it hit me that the Tivo/DVD unit sure sounded like cramming a 3950 and a Tivo in one box...and shot off an inquiry to Vinnie and posted the same question on another board... If I hear anything back, I'll post here...- cjr888

Review: Benchmark DAC1 vs RME HDSP 9632 vs RME PAD vs EMU 1212M
About measurements -- All available on past threads, modded and unmodded. Specifically search for Iron Dreamer's posts. Someone else can provide the link, but there's also the site that provides a rediculous amount of technical comparisons between cards, and at least for the pro audio cards...- cjr888

Review: Benchmark DAC1 vs RME HDSP 9632 vs RME PAD vs EMU 1212M
Heh. Noticed that as well outside of Sven Boenicke's implementation which looks nothing like the actual product as he built it himself based on their schematic. He's actually the one who directed me to the DAC http://www.boenicke-audio.ch Pictures of his unit are here...- cjr888

Review: Benchmark DAC1 vs RME HDSP 9632 vs RME PAD vs EMU 1212M
I personally have become a sucker for the non-OS philosophy...if on a budget. Other philosophies, properly implemented better it at times with a similar outcome as the non-OS, but that are currently out of my impulse buying range. I'll currently be pairing the RME PAD with two Toslink cables and...- cjr888

Price doesn't matter, what I am looking for...
Jasper had excellent suggestions. You're in a metro area, I'd get out there at see what's available, and what differences matter to you. I'm too tired to search threads, so don't know your ratio of headphone listening vs. speaker listening. If you do a decent amount of speaker listening, I'd...- cjr888

Soundcard and load on PC
Let's assume ASIO. Are there any comparisons on CPU usage/PC load per soundcard, whether digital out, or analog out...assuming for right now 44k output, and no software based plug-ins. Just plain ol' output. The reason I ask is that if you look at the minimum requirements for various cards...- cjr888

Soundcard vs. Soundcard + external DAC
Intrigued to hear people's further experiences in this thread, both in regards to comparisons of card quality as source -> DAC, as well as comparisons of card alone vs. card with external DAC. Not sure if its thread-jacking, but also curious on anyone who has run soundcard -> digital out ->...- cjr888

The best computer sound card is the equal of the best stand-alone CDP?
cjr888--or anybody--have you actually heard a Lynx soundcard in a good setup? I'm very curious, mainly due to the huge price difference between even a top quality soundcard and some of the ridiculously expensive CD rigs out there (Audio Aero Capitole, Theta Gen VIII DAC, etc.) I haven't, but...- cjr888

The best computer sound card is the equal of the best stand-alone CDP?
I'm a quiet lurker at Head-Fi, primarily because I am <gasp> a speaker guy. Either way, I read both the sources forums daily and am in the process of putting together a high-end PC-as-source. I'm intrigued primarily because a lot of the opinions I read here are the complete opposite of other...- cjr888

Myryad MI-120 Headphone Capabilities?
Hello all, New here, and new the headphone world. Have a rediculous amount of time and money invested in a standard two channel rig, and will be toying around in headphone land to initially satisfy late night listening without completely annoying my significant other at odd hours with my...- cjr888
