Finally did it for foobar2000 (0.8.3). The DSP component is available at 3rd party foobar2000 components website, DSP section, if anyone wants to try it. You'll need to have a software DVD player using DOLBYHPH.DLL installed, and configure the plugin with its location.

I like a lot the Dolby Headphone sound, either from 5.1 sources as from Stereo sources, but I don't like at all the few players that have licensed the DSP library from Lake (PowerDVD, WinDVD, Musicmatch Jukebox, as far as I know). As you say, only these apps can legaly use the DOLBYHPH.DLL...

Yeah, I know this doesn't exist (yet) but, for which player would be easier to code a DSP plugin for that purpose? I know Winamp and foobar2000 have SDK's for coding DSP plugins, but there may be others. Any ideas? Any players using DirectShow filters? If possible, the target player should...
