True. My main point is that it should be there. Part of me thinks that i should hold them to their promises (although shipping back and forth is a hassle. Most of me says f#ckall, get a new DAC from a reliable and honest manufacturer.

Thanks, mscott58, but I have old chassis and Mac based system, so this requires sending back to LHLabs. Fortunately U have a two year warranty and live not too distantly from their site.   Methinks this is the time to buy a new and reliably built DAC, and retire the Xfi once I get it repaired.
