From my listening experience, I do agree that the sub bass is not as prominent as what I've heard in other setups. It's not rolled off, but if you specifically want a strong sub bass, the mojo may not be your thing. 

Hmm it's funny you say that, because the Valhalla2 - an OTL amp supposedly able to drive high impedance HPs like the HD800 - seem to degrade the sound (elaborated on in my previous post). Even the V200 which I had, though excellent, did not bring me the same level of enjoyment as the mojo...

Unfortunately, nope! I've not had a good listen to other amps and am probably not in a position to comment on other pairings sorry. Suffice to say, I am extremely contented with what I'm using now! :)

Haha make of it what you will - but those were my thoughts when coming from the HD600. I believe - as I stated above - that the sound we come from affects the way we perceive new sounds. I certainly don't find them v-shaped when listening to them now. This is besides the intent of the post...

I'm using the arcam irdac as well, and the pairing with the HD800s suits my ears very well.  There aren't many impressions about this pairing out there, just a few posts here and there. Let us know what you think when you've received them! :)

  I find the iDSD's amp to be a little bright. I'm running the iDSD to the iCan and that helps to balance things. Sounds really really good now. :)

  It's comforting because it means I am feeding a digital signal to my iCan and not an analog one. I turn the volume on my iPhone all the way up anyway so I do not digitally attenuate the signal.    Thanks for the reply ClieOS!
