Believe it or not, I actually returned them soon after my purchase. This may only be me, but I feel like the headphones clamped down on the very back of my jawbone.

I would prefer not to have used. For leather/Pleather, maybe because I could wipe it down.  But velour products soak up sweat, etc.

First off, the 598 are open acoustic.  They CANNOT be open.  Secondly, the HD 700 may be just a little out of my price range.......................

I feel quite the opposite.  The PC 350s I'm wearing as I type this have next to ZERO clamping pressure.  The HD 555s sitting next to my computer have far more clamping force, but are so light that I can still wear them for quite a fair bit before I have to give my head a break.

I have most definitely considered these, but, from what I've read, they have more clamping force than I'm comfortable with.
