Well, if they can be balanced by re-terminating the stock cable, my next question is would you be interested in doing the conversion, for a fee of course?

I see Blue and White wires on one side and Blue and Orange wires on the other side.  Looks like one of each, so two wires per side.

The Jotunheim Balanced DAC module for $100.00 is an outstanding value.  It has a killer soundstage, it's very detailed, and can be a bit smooth too.  Pairs very well with my Grado SR80e and AKG K7XX.  Waiting on my son's HD 6XX to arrive so we can see how they match up.  It doesn't do native DSD...

I have one. Still in the box though. I plan to fire it up within the next few weeks to rip some vinyl. The Ion also has phono outs so it can be used with a preamp/line level inputs too.

I think an e-mu 1212m can be had for $150.00 (or less). You'd be hard pressed to fing a $150.00 USB DAC to rival it, especially if you plan on recording in the future. You could run a gaming card and the 1212m in the same PC.

asio4all is for cards that DO NOT have a native asio driver. You do not want to use it in place of native drivers.
