An optical USB cable is basically an optical cable with two transceivers. Function-wise it should be nothing different than a typical USB cable.

It is usually more a peace of mind thingy in terms of engineering. Usually with the same implementation balanced can give you better performance, but there are also exceptions. IMO you don't have to worry about it too much except for the plug compatibility issues.

I'd go with a tube dap from cayin as it differentiates the portfolio. Most daps nowadays sound pretty much identical to your regular iPhone + a good dongle.

You can deplete the battery and check the curved words on it(if they do exist).

Music heaven's cables are in high quality. But I don't know much about their amp.
