I don't listen to too base heavy music much, to me "fun" is emphasis on upper mids\ treble I guess- canNoobie

What is a bright headphone with good soundstage ~$300
What about finding a used pair of Ad 900x or AD 1000x? They fit the bill of bright + soundstage right?- canNoobie

What is a bright headphone with good soundstage ~$300
Based off the real quick research I just did, I think I would go with the 702 over the 701. Could you explain the difference between that and a grado a little?- canNoobie

I've owned an sr80e and a 400i, and I really prefer the fun sound that the grado has. I was thinking about buying a used sr325e, but I wanted to know if there are similar headphones in that price range that I should consider.- canNoobie

Rank the Headphones that You Own.
I was thinking of trying out some different pads for them, but doing anything with the drivers terrifies me. Especially because they're glued in, it seems like it would be tough to get them back in just the right position- canNoobie

Short list since I'm a noob 1. he 400i 2. Grado sr80e Although, I do prefer the signature of the Grados, music is just more fun to listen to when I'm using them. Looking to get rid of both and buy a nicer Grado- canNoobie

I'm using the SMSL M6. It definitely improves the sound, and I didn't realize headphones could get so loud:grimacing:- canNoobie

I am definitely reading a bunch of the great reviews on this sight, but I am still trying to figure out what my preferences are. Based off my sr80 vs he 400i experience I guess I like a bright headphone and value soundstage pretty highly. But those are the only two cans I've ever listened to...- canNoobie

I just got them about a week ago, so I'm not totally used to them yet. I never found the grados to be uncomfortable, but these are definitely a step up. But other than that I am actually a little disappointed. The soundstage is pretty small, and the more neutral sound is a little boring to me...- canNoobie

College student and new member here. SR80e was my first pair of decent headphones. I gave myself $300 to upgrade recently and decided to go with he 400i and an smsl m6...really regretting it. I don't think the soundstage is any better than the 80s and they sound sooooo boring compared to the...- canNoobie
