    AKG K812 Pro, underrated?

It´s quite unusual to see somebody with the 65th anniversaries. I currently own a K872, 65th anniversary and K240DF LP. When I got the k872, it completly made the 65th annis obsolete, early this year I tried the yaxi pads on them and a little bit of EQ and they came alive again, they are very...

Awesome! Can you write us a small comparison between them?

By any chance, have you tried the heddphone 2? I wondering how it sounds compared with the K812.

THE COMPOSER OPEN BACK FLAGSHIP by AUSTRIAN AUDIO

Have you compared them with the K812? When you EQ the 4K and 6k peaks, the K812 should be quite respectable. It would be interesting if someone can directly compare them.

    AKG's new K872?

If you have accurate information from AA about this foam not being used for correcting the FR, I might have to hold on my final decision. I hope Nomax gives us more insight about that one. Ufffff, the Fight Club is such a terrific movie. You can learn a lot of things from that movie. For sure...

    AKG's new K872?

The purpose of dampening is to store energy. That big chunk of foam can and will store a lot of energy wich it can be released and give you those good transients or sense of "speed" plus the added linearity on the low end and potentially reduce some peaks in the high en of the spectrum. The...

    AKG's new K872?

Cool, thanks for sharing Rob. I’ll be making my decision, hopefully at the end of the month, I’ll you all posted. Cheers!

    AKG's new K872?

I’ve been reading the rest of the composer’s thread, I don’t think is a good purchase at $2700. That big-thick-glued foam is really a turn down. Also the fact that the dampening is too close to your ears that it actually touches them, will make it uncomfortable, my guess is that they had to put...

HEDD Audio HEDDphone TWO - Now Available for Pre-Order with Special Pre-Order Bonus

I gotchu, to me the weakest point of the HP2 is their weight. Like you, I wear my headphones for countless hours in a day, so I guess it will be an issue for me. I wish my K240DF sounded better, I can wear them all-day-long. Cheers!

    AKG's new K872?

Jejejeje they must be very frustrated to behave like that on public. The additional bass and reduction of those peak frequencies sound good. I don’t remember when or even if this is correct, but I read a while ago that AKG released new pads for the K812, who knows if it’s true or what changes...

Have you had the chance to try The Composer? It would be cool if could listen to the HP2 and The Composer and throw us some opinions. Cheers!

    AKG's new K872?

There are good deals on the K812 on Amazon USA. So they are basically half the price of The Composer, but the big question will be if they are worth it 🤔 Yes, the pads are pricey but they should last a couple of years with high use. You should try the K240DF too, as far as I know, the same...

    AKG's new K872?

They are never going to get imported to where I live 😂 I hope they get imported to Austrialia. At the moment I have the K872s with the mod of removing the inner foam rings, they sound superv with a little bit of EQ. But I’m looking for an open back too, my K240DFs are the best I have for open...

    AKG's new K872?

Quite expensive! Same as the K812s John, you have been very active on The Composer thread, have you had the chance to audition them and/or compare thame with the k812s? That thread has been very toxic for the past few months, I rather don't ask there lol
