    Denon AH-7200

Yeah, IMO you should return them. I also gave them some time to adjust to them and it didn't happen. Headband was hurting my head, pads were annoying me. It's a shame but it's a real issue. Real shame because these produce a very lovely sound indeed. On the other hand ZMF Eikon is pretty similar...

    Denon AH-7200

@gigglebug Hey, so first of all those Dekoni pads won't fit too well on the D7200, they're a little bigger so it will fit loosely. They also don't have that big of an opening, since it's round it won't help the problem, your ears will still be touching the edges (I also had TH900 pads at home...

    Denon AH-7200

@Mistyc I used to own the D7200 and I did try it with the Sony DAP at a store. I personally already own the Pioneer 300R so I dont need to switch to anything else right now. But it did sound great out of the Sony too :) It's a rather musical sounding DAP so that goes well with the D7200.

It's a great pairing, yeah. You'll be more than happy :)

    Denon AH-7200

Boring? 7200? Hell no. It was very fun to listen to. It's got great bass, it rumbles more than it thumps and it's really great for genres like hip hop or modern music. But heck I enjoyed everything on it. I loved the sound, I just hated the stupidly uncomfortable headband.

    Denon AH-7200

P9 doesn't have such good sub-bass and is overall more flat in the mids, but darker in treble. 7200 on the other hand has a little boosted mids (vocals) but excellent clarity and great bass, treble is smooth and never fatiguing as well. Both are dark in the treble but P9 a bit more so, D7200 has...

Agreed, it's very embarassing for Denon that they charge you this price for such an uncomfortable headband. And ironically the headband on D5200 and 9200 feel much nicer. I don't get what changed on the D7200, but it sucks yeah. The main reason why I sold mine was the headband, and no ZMF Pilot...

These. Bud EMU has a little bit more forward midrange, but much sharper treble.

    Sony MDR-1AM2 - Impressions Thread

I don't understand why are you guys so upset with the plastic build quality. For once I am glad that not everything is out of metal and wood, making things unnecessarily heavy. I can really appreciate this very light-weight design that Sony managed to achieve with 1am2 because I usually listen...

    Denon AH-D9200 - 2018 Flagship - Impressions Thread

I used their cable with the D7200 and I couldn't tell a difference. It's simply not a realiable way to check if cables make a difference because even if there is some difference, it's so extremely subtle that by the that I change to another cable, I've already forgotten all the details of how...

    Denon AH-D9200 - 2018 Flagship - Impressions Thread

Well said. Personally I own the ZMF Auteur for now, and it's very similar with a more open sound, but compared to the Denon, it's bulky, it's heavy, it's open back, I can only use it at home and with an amp. The fact that Denon somehow managed to take all these good qualities of a big open-back...

    Denon AH-D9200 - 2018 Flagship - Impressions Thread

I think I can offer my opinion on this too. There is enough room, but I would compare it to something like HD600. You can still feel the earpad touching your ear. Though Denons use a much softer material and it doesn't bother my ears at all. And the pads are plush with excellent memory foam. In...

    Denon AH-D9200 - 2018 Flagship - Impressions Thread

D9200 then. D7200 is way too colored, especially midrange. The treble is on the darker side and bass is definitely boosted. It's a headphone for "fun".

    Denon AH-7200

I think it's silver-plated copper, I've read it in the manual. Maybe I'm wrong though, but I think it's not just copper. The D9200 uses only silver on the other hand. I think it's the D5200 that uses copper.

Ye sure, it looks okay too. I'd choose the silver-plated copper cable because that's what the stock Denon cables use too.
