the dac in question uses USB 1.1 according to pedxing, which is only capable of 16-bit 48Khz. the M-Audio devices mentioned use USB 2.0 IIRC.

I've been on the verge of buying a USB DAC for a few weeks, and i've narrowed my choice down to either a DIYEDEN SVDAC05 or Firestone Audio Fubar II. Either way, I was wondering how these things actually work in practice. Many state that they don't need drivers for windows, and this confuses me...

i'm pretty sure all the modern ones do. i sell them at work so i'll test it when i get the time.
